WTB: CSS/WordPress Skinner

Posted in Other on January 31, 2007 by pallywithash

Yeah, I’m a bit tired of the current skin for the blog and the free ones that WordPress have to offer I don’t really like. So seeing as I’m pretty strong on the design side of things but incredibly nub on the coding/development side, I’m looking for someone who’d be willing to spend some time (and make a few extra bucks on the side) to develop a skin for my blog based on my own Graphics.

Hit me up on the blog comments if you’re interested and I’ll get in touch with you, or better yet contact me in game. That’s Kerni, Frostmane (US).

Blood Elf Paladin Epic Mount Guide

Posted in Burning Crusade, Talents & Spells on January 29, 2007 by pallywithash

I guess I can’t descriminate against our newfound Pally brethren, the Blood Elves. J over at wowpaladin.org posted this useful guide to quest for the Blood Elf Paladin Epic Mount. Good deal.

Replacing an item…

Posted in Items on January 27, 2007 by pallywithash

With a heavy heart I am here to inform you that in two more levels I will be replacing the very item that inspired me to start this blog site. Yes, I will be retiring Ashkandi upon reaching level 68 and will be rocking The Oathkeeper. This should definitely serve me well with the ever growing need for spell damage.

Avenging Wrath

Posted in Burning Crusade, Talents & Spells on January 26, 2007 by pallywithash

As I draw closer to level 70 my excitement grows. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day I walk up to my Paladin trainer and purchase my Avenging Wrath spell. Regardless of what any crybabies (Paladins or any other class alike) say this spell is going to simply rock.

I keep reading/hearing about how it’s dispellable or can be taken with spell steal, how the huge wings you gain make you a huge target. To those people I must simply say, “Only if you’re a complete dolt!” If you’re PVP’ing, hopefully you are aware of your surroundings and for the love of all that is holy I pray that you know when and how to properly use your stun(s) to your advantage.

I can just see it now. The common scenario will be as follows: Mr. Ret Paladin runs up to Mage and immediately pops Avenging Wrath, completely eliminating any chance to bubble out of a polymorph. The Mage steals the spell (if he’s lucky since it chooses a random buff) and decimates the Paladin in a few shots. The Paladin will then run to the Mage forums and cry nerf thus furthuring the lack of respect Ret Pallys get.

The uncommon scenario however would be as follows: Paladin runs up to the Mage, immediately tosses a Repentance and Judges Seal of the Crusader, pops Avenging Wrath and judges Seal of Command followed by a quick Crusader Strike and an immediate Hammer of Justice. If the Mage hasn’t blinked already Paladin has another 5 seconds to utilize your Avenging Wrath by tossing out another Judgement of Command and possibly another Crusader Strike. The Mage will then run to the Paladin forums and cry for a nerf claiming that Paladins should not be able to do any damage whatsoever and should only be heal/buff/cleanse bots.

This is of course coming from someone who’s yet to PvP in a battleground post Expansion in the rush for 70. But hey what do I know? I’m just a Pally with Ashkandi.

First COT Run

Posted in Burning Crusade, Items on January 26, 2007 by pallywithash

In an attempt to bolster my healing gear with the incredibly sweet Northshire Battlemace I ran my very first Caverns of Time run tonight. I found it to be quite challenging, especially having to heal as a Ret spec Paladin. The Skarloc and Epoch Hunter boss fights were lengthy and a strain on the mana pool of both myself and the Priest healing along side me.

After two failed attempts at freeing Thrall and killing Epoch Hunter we nailed it on the third try and although my Mace did not drop I still walked away feeling accomplished that for the first time in a long time. Done an instance that I had no knowledge of the pulls, the mob locations or the strats. A total “wing it” night. I’ll be heading back there this weekend for sure.

Cobalt War Talbuk Grinding

Posted in Burning Crusade, Items on January 25, 2007 by pallywithash

According to my calculations (I’ve descended Cobalt War Talbuk into nerdome) it’ll be an estimated 2 weeks of grinding Ogres before reaching exalted with the Kurenai, thus getting my War Talbuk. As of this morning I’m about 1200 into Honored and have a handful of quests left in Nagrand. I’m also after a particular 2H mace. Yes, it will be a nice replacement for Ashkandi and though it will be hard to retire the sword it was all worth the while. Speaking of a 2H weapon, I’ve got something to really look forward to. There have been talks amongst my guild’s officers that we may very well allow Paladins (or “a paladin”) to DPS in raids. Hmmm, I guess people aren’t so ignorant after all.

Lots of Librams!

Posted in Items on January 24, 2007 by pallywithash

Oh my! This was something I was looking forward to for a long time now. Once again, I’m a bit behind since I was never one to research and salivate over items pre-release but what Pally cant be excited about more librams! Check them out over at wowhead. Librams

There are plenty of useful librams to choose from for any type of Paladin. I’m especially looking forward to picking up the Libram of Righteous Power, a quest reward in Shadowmoon Valley that increases the damage done by Crusader Strike by 18.
