Bye M’uru. Hi Kil’jaedan.

Finally downed M’uru last night for my server’s Alliance first kill. Overall was a fun fight and although they nerfed it, the encounter was fun both pre-nerf and post. I couldn’t be any more proud of my fellow guildies. I will say to all of you Paladins, granted only two of you get to go per M’uru kill, healing the main tank is, at first a real pain in the ass but once you and your MT figure out how to position yourselves, pick up sentinals, move with each other you’ll get the hang of it.

Another tip is that if you’re packing a nice amount of spell haste (I’ve got 286), you need to make sure you heal the tank with Rank 8 Holy Light and a mixture of ranks 10 and 11. Rank 11 being for the heavy damage. Spamming some very fast, max rank Flash of Lights between the Sentinel spawns will help keep your tank topped off while he runs around.

I’d really like to hear from you guys about your M’uru encounters so feel free to post comments. For those of you on him, good luck and have fun.

Oh and…I am definitely putting out a video this time 😉

F*** M’uru

Well actually, F*** Entropius. 8% wipe. Healing this fight is probably the hardest job I’ve ever been given in my entire raiding “career”. You can’t sneeze. You can’t blink. You can’t take your eyes off of the main tank for a second. Anyway, hopefully we can beat this particular guild to killing him and snag an Alliance-Server First kill tomorrow night.

And a few Karazhan runs later…

Pulled in some nice new loots this week 🙂 Moroes dropped Boots of Valiance for me, picked up a nice little healing ring in the form of Mender’s Heart Ring and last but certainly not least I got my first piece of Tier 4. Justicar Gloves. That puts me a little above 1400 +Healing now with a few key enchants missing (+81 healing to my mace would be nice).

Now I’ve got to go through the pain of farming for Primals to enchant this stuff. Do I miss Ret yet? You betcha 😉

3 months later…

…and I’ve made my little return to the game. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed NOT playing WoW for those 3 months. It gave me time to get a lot of things in my life in order such as breaking off a 6 year relationship that NEEDED to end, losing a metric ton of weight that I had gained over the course of my “WoW Career” as well as catching up with old friends and actually going out for a change!

So now that I’ve learned to control my time spent playing the game I’ve hopped back into raiding with my new guild, Focused Agression on the Alterac Mountains (US) server. They’re a pretty chill guild, some really skilled players and my class leader is one hell of a Paladin. Going to really need to gear up and pull out all of the stops to bust his ass on the healing meters! 😉

Anyway, picked up a few new items this past week in Karazhan. Shard of the Virtuous, Triptych Shield of the Ancients and Legacy to satisfy my old Ret cravings.

I’ll probably be updating once or twice a week for the hell of it so keep on coming back.

Karazhan: The Crone

Posted in Burning Crusade, Guild, Items, Raiding on February 15, 2007 by pallywithash

So I finally got around to making time for raiding last night. Karazhan is by far one of the best designed dungeons in the game to date. So we went in, cleared some trash and got to the Theatre event. The dungeon itself is huge and visually stunning. Seeing as it’s a 10 man raid I was able to run the game cranked to the max on my trusty G5 Powermac with decent performance (35+ FPS). Karazhan Anyway, I have to admit that I was impressed by the nice dialogue as the stage manager presents tonight’s act. We got dealt the Wizard of Oz act. Not bad at all. There was “Roar” (the Cowardly Lion), Tito (duh!), Strawman (need I say more?), Tinhead, Dorothy and last but not least “The Crone”. Overall the fight was pretty simple. We had a Warrior tanking Strawman, a Protadin tanking Tinhead and Roar being feared. The fight seems to be the same old tank and spank, CC thing but the whole boss fight didn’t seem like the usual stale boss fights we’ve been forced to endure in AQ40 and Naxx.

I actually recorded a video of the fight with Snapz so once I get it into iMovie and although I totally misclicked my Bubble for absolutely no reason at the start of the fight I’ll have to post it up when I get around to it.

Drops: Wicked Witches Hat, Beastmaw Pauldrons. Grats to Milde on the shoulders and Lyto on the hat.

Ding! 70.

Finally! Even so I dropped behind most of my guild mates I finally hit 70 tonight. I have to say that the time off I took to get rested XP rather than straight grinding with little sleep like most people did really helped me out both mentally and physically. If I learned one thing from the grind from 60 to 70 it’s that I can no longer take the long hours of gaming like I used to. Anyway, off to buy my flying mount and new spells! 😀

Hammer of the Naruu

Wow. I definitely can’t wait to hit up Gruul’s Lair for a chance to get my hands on the Hammer of the Naaru. I hadn’t seen it on wowhead previously so it must’ve recently been added. Speaking of WoWhead, yours truly is the proud 3rd place winner of their most recent contest! I’ve won a copy of The Burning Crusade. Pretty nice eh?
